24 November 2011 The last Wednesday class of 2011 will be on 21st December at Thirsk Town Hall. The next class will be on 4th January 2012 at St James Methodist Church, usual time of 7-8.30pm 17 November 2011 The venue for the training session with Stuart Agars on 10 December has changed from Thirsk Town Hall to Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe Village Hall 03 June 2011 The Training workshop with Sandie Day on 11th June has had to be cancelled due to a lack of numbers 14 April 2011 The Vale of York Wednesday class on July 6th has had to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. This session has been rescheduled for Tuesday July 5th and will be free of charge to all Vale of York members 20 March 2011 Three items of news:
The Saturday class which was due to take place on 9th April has been cancelled due to Stuart flying to China on that day. The concensus at the recent Wednesday class was that, having had two classes in March, we would be unlikely to attract sufficient people to make a class viable
We now have a new publicity team. Sue Dixon, ably assisted by Andrea Snow, are taking over as publicity secretaries. Many thanks go to them for taking on this role
We appreciate that this year there have been substantially more changes to the workshops timetable as usual. To help ensure that you have the most up-to-date information regarding workshops and Wednesday classes, we are launching today an online workshops diary, which is can be accessed via the new Classes & Workshops button above. The online diary - also available in a print-friendly format - will contain up-to-date information about these sessions. The downloadable diary will no longer be regularly updated - we urge you to check the online diary regularly for any updates to timetabled sessions 20 February 2011 There have been several changes to the Workshop timetable and Wednesday class venues recently, mostly due to circumstances beyond our control. Please check the list and amend your diaries if necessary
At the recent AGM, Judith Wood was elected Treasurer. This means that any expense claims and all future workshop bookings should be sent to Judith - email judith.wood@valeofyork-qigong.co.uk or phone 01845 526435.
As a result of this change, there is a vacancy for Publicity Secretary. Please talk to Pat or Judith to find out more about the job and help lighten Judith's workload! 20 January 2011 AGM - this will take place on Wednesday 9th February in Thirsk Town Hall, starting at 8pm. This means the regular meeting will be shortened to one hour. Please attend if you can as your input to the group is welcomed
September 2011 workshop - the date and venue for this is changed. Please check the Workshops 2011 download for the updated information 22 December 2010 New DVD - a DVD of Sue demonstrating her Autumn Form and the Old Un-named Form is now available to members at £8, non members £10. It is intended to act as an aide-memoire to those who have attended classes, rather than actively teaching the form. To order a copy contact Judith Wood - judith.wood@valeofyork-qigong.co.uk
Amendments to grading requirements - It was decided by the committee in line with suggestions from Master Alan Box that for all future gradings, students will not be able to carry accumulated time forward, but just count practice hours with a qualified instructor since their last grading. There should be a minimum of 40 hours for students, 50 hours for instructors/trainees. An updated copy of the grading application form is available from the Documents page 27 September 2010 A few changes have been made to the remaining workshops in 2010. The location for the remaining workshops is now the Village Hall at Sutton under Whitestonecliffe. Additionally, the October grading now takes place slightly earlier starting at 9am. Workshops for 2011, and the Tariff card are also available to download from the Documents page 19 April 2010 With effect from Wednesday 21st April 2010 the weekly fee for the Wednesday class will rise to £5. This is the first increase since the Association was formed and will help offset the rising costs of room hire and the Saturday classes/workshops
